OUR STORY
Our mission is to create products that celebrate Black girlhood in schools while reminding students they are brilliant, and capable throughout the day. We believe that products serving Black girls are more than just items; they are spaces for innovation, dreaming, imagination, art, healing, and knowledge production.
Our line pays homage to the creativity and innovation inherent in Blackness and the Black experience. We are dedicated to spreading education and awareness, celebrating historical and contemporary Black girl figures who have tirelessly advocated for equitable schooling.
We proudly power Justice for Black Girls dedicated to serving Black girls, with proceeds from our products benefiting their important work.
Founded by two proud HBCU graduates and Divine Nine Black women, our shared experiences and commitment to our community drive our passion.
OUR WHY
4 Little Girls
Did you know that 4 Little Girls integrated New Orleans Public Schools on November 14th, 1960? 4LG isn’t just a school supplies brand, its a call to amplify herstory centering Black girls resistance in schools. We amplify the Leona Tate, Tessie Provost and Gail Etienne who were 5 and 6 years old when they integrated McDonough 19, down the street from William Frantz Elementary School where Ruby Bridges integrated schools at 6 years old. They have inspired us, their courage & audacity, at 6- is a north star for us. They knew Black girls deserved better schooling experiences, and because of them, we now can.
